World-Class Infra Crucial for India’s $5 Trillion Dream, Says Gadkari
At the ET World Leaders Forum 2025, Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari stressed that world-class infrastructure is vital for India’s goal of becoming a $5 trillion economy and the third-largest globally. He highlighted priority sectors—water, power, transport, and communication—as critical enablers of growth.
Emphasizing eco-friendly, cost-effective development, Gadkari outlined plans for green highways, ropeways, tunnels, and enhanced connectivity to cut travel time and reduce logistics costs, thereby boosting competitiveness.
He noted progress in lowering logistics expenses and outlined a vision for pollution-free, affordable public transport, positioning India as a future energy exporter. Gadkari also projected the automobile sector to become world number one, alongside initiatives for road safety and sustainable construction.
