Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Rising North East Investors Summit 2025 in New Delhi, highlighting the Northeast’s strategic importance in India’s growth. Emphasizing the region’s diversity and potential in trade, textiles, and tourism, he outlined the government’s vision—Empower, Act, Strengthen, and Transform (EAST).

Modi noted a shift from “Look East” to “Act East,” marking the Northeast as a key driver of development. He announced massive infrastructure investments, including highways, tunnels, railways, and digital networks.

Highlighting projects like the Sela Tunnel and the Kaladan Multimodal Transit Project, he positioned the Northeast as India’s gateway to ASEAN, with trade expected to surpass $200 billion. The summit aims to boost regional investment, connectivity, and industrial growth.
