NPG Reviews 4 Infrastructure Projects to Boost Logistics

The Network Planning Group (NPG), in its 101st meeting under the PM GatiShakti framework, approved four key infrastructure projects across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and West Bengal to enhance logistics efficiency and multimodal connectivity.

Two major road projects — NH-160A (Ghoti–Palghar) in Maharashtra and the Ashapur–Rudhy (Betul–Khandwa) corridor in Madhya Pradesh — aim to decongest freight routes and link industrial hubs to ports.

In the rail sector, new 3rd and 4th lines between Gamharia–Chandil and Sainthia–Pakur will relieve congestion on critical freight corridors, improving mineral and energy logistics.

These projects will cut travel time, lower freight costs, and promote a modal shift from road to rail for sustainable, integrated infrastructure growth.
