Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new terminal at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati on December 20, 2025, during a two-day visit to Assam. Built at a cost of ₹4,000 crore, the nature-themed terminal draws inspiration from the North East’s biodiversity and culture and is designed to boost passenger capacity and operational efficiency.

The project strengthens Guwahati’s role as a key aviation hub for the region. During the visit, PM Modi will also unveil an 80-foot statue of Gopinath Bordoloi, pay tribute to Assam movement martyrs, and attend the Bhoomi Pujan of a fertiliser project in Namrup.
