India’s Toll Revenue Set to Double to ₹1.4 Lakh Crore by 2027
India’s annual toll revenue is projected to more than double to ₹1.4 lakh crore within two years, up from ₹55,000 crore, according to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Speaking at the CII National Conference on Smart Roads, he emphasized that developing world-class, safe, and sustainable road infrastructure is key to driving economic growth, attracting investments, and generating employment.
Gadkari also announced plans to promote construction equipment using alternate fuels to cut pollution and reduce fossil fuel dependence while supporting India’s agriculture sector.
To encourage adoption, the government will offer five to seven-year interest-free loans to contractors purchasing such eco-friendly machinery.
