Scindia unveils 3-year plan to transform India Post into a modern logistics powerhouse.
Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced a three-year roadmap to transform India Post into a modern, technology-driven logistics and digital services enterprise.
The plan aims to make parcels and mail contribute 75% of total revenue, shifting from traditional postal operations to a logistics-first model. Under the India Post IT 2.0 initiative, six new products will launch by early 2026, with modernization of 18 post offices to boost automation and efficiency.
Scindia directed underperforming postal circles to submit turnaround plans and urged leaders to act as CEOs to drive private sector engagement. India Post will also benchmark global leaders like DHL and Japan Post to adopt best practices in automation, warehousing, and last-mile delivery.
