Door-to-Door Rail Parcel Service

Ashwini Vaishnaw Unveils India’s First Door-to-Door Rail Parcel Service

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated the Sonik Integrated Logistics Hub and launched India’s first door-to-door rail freight and parcel services, marking a major leap in rail logistics. Located between Lucknow and Kanpur, the Sonik Hub—managed by CONCOR—offers end-to-end multimodal logistics under the rail logistics.

The new Mumbai–Kolkata door-to-door service ensures faster, cost-efficient cargo movement, achieving up to 7.5% lower logistics costs and 30% faster transit than road transport. Additionally, the Assured Transit Container Train Service (Delhi–Kolkata) guarantees 120-hour delivery.

Vaishnaw said the initiative will transform Indian Railways into a full-service logistics provider, boosting efficiency and connectivity across industrial and agricultural sectors.
