Delhi Tightens Emission Rules: Key Updates for Truckers
Delhi has tightened pollution controls under GRAP as air quality remains “very poor,” with an AQI of 328. From now on, only BS-VI compliant vehicles are allowed to enter the capital during GRAP-III and GRAP-IV. Non-BS-VI vehicles registered outside Delhi, including older diesel trucks, buses, and commercial vehicles from NCR cities, are barred. Vehicles carrying construction material are completely prohibited during GRAP-IV.
Additionally, fuel stations will deny petrol, diesel, or CNG to vehicles without a valid PUC certificate from December 18, enforced through camera-based monitoring. NCR cities like Gurugram, Noida, and Ghaziabad will see large fleet disruptions. Enforcement uses ANPR systems and border checks, with fines and seizures for violations. Transporters must ensure compliance, reroute fleets, or upgrade vehicles to avoid operational disruptions.
