Commerce Ministry Invites Input from Export Promotion

Commerce Ministry Invites Input from Export Promotion Councils on Upcoming Export Schemes

The Commerce Ministry has sought feedback from Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) on new schemes under the ₹2,250 crore Export Promotion Mission. EPCs must submit inputs to DGFT by tomorrow.

The mission aims to boost MSME exports through easier credit access, alternative financing like factoring, and financial aid for tackling non-tariff measures (NTMs).

Key proposals include a collateral-free credit mechanism, expanded factoring adoption, and cost reimbursement for compliance activities.

A Trade Assistance Programme (TAP) is also being considered for high-risk markets. Officials from RBI, ECGC, and EXIM Bank attended a recent meeting chaired by the Commerce Secretary.

Exporters have urged exclusive MAI funding to EPCs and called for an extension of the Interest Equalisation Scheme (IES).
