Delhi Bans Entry of Certain Vehicles from November 1
Starting November 1, 2025, Delhi will ban entry of high-emission commercial vehicles registered outside the capital to curb pollution. Only BS-VI compliant, CNG, LNG, or electric goods vehicles will be allowed entry, while BS-IV vehicles can operate until October 31, 2026.
The directive from the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) aims to reduce vehicular emissions, a major source of Delhi’s poor air quality. The move will impact logistics operations, compelling transporters to upgrade fleets or risk losing access to the capital.
Though costly initially, the transition promotes cleaner, sustainable logistics and offers competitive advantages to operators adopting green fleets early. The ban aligns with Delhi’s 2025 Air Pollution Mitigation Plan.
