Three Key Ports Designated as Green Hydrogen Hubs
The Indian government has officially recognised Deendayal Port (Gujarat), V.O. Chidambaranar Port (Tamil Nadu), and Paradip Port (Odisha) as Green Hydrogen Hubs, aiming to support the country’s transition to net zero by 2070, said Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
Following a cluster-based development model, the initiative enhances project viability, promotes infrastructure convergence, and achieves economies of scale. Recognition of these ports is expected to boost industrial participation, attract green investments, and foster innovation in clean fuel technologies.
Existing guidelines for Hydrogen Valley Innovation Clusters (HVIC) and Green Hydrogen Hubs provide a framework to identify and support regions capable of large-scale hydrogen production and activity.
