India Set to Reduce Logistics Cost Below 10% by December, Says Gadkari
Union Road Transport & Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that India’s logistics cost will drop below 10% by December 2025, improving competitiveness with China (8%) and the U.S. (12%).
He highlighted government initiatives in electric mobility, biofuels, ethanol blending, hydrogen fuels, and expansion of highways, ports, and multimodal hubs.
Speaking at the foundation of 27 road projects and inauguration of two others worth ₹5,235 crore in Andhra Pradesh, Gadkari stressed the role of robust infrastructure in development.
Key projects include the greenfield Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway and regional upgrades. He also emphasized Andhra’s 1,000-km coastline, port potential, and urged action on road safety issues flagged in a ministry audit.
