One Airport One Product: Transforming Air Cargo Logistics

One Airport One Product Transforming Air Cargo Logistics to Boost Regional Exports in India

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has launched the “One Airport, One Product” (OAOP) initiative, starting at Tuticorin Airport, Tamil Nadu, to boost regional exports and air cargo efficiency.

Inspired by the ODOP model, OAOP designates each airport as a hub for region-specific products, supported by tailored infrastructure like cold storage, streamlined customs, and cargo zones.

The program aims to reduce logistics costs, enhance traceability, and integrate hinterlands into global value chains. Future expansion includes airports like Lucknow (mangoes), Hyderabad (pharma), and Jaipur (handicrafts).

The initiative is expected to generate jobs, empower local producers, and position India as a global export hub through multi-stakeholder collaboration.
