25 Greenfield E-Ways Spanning 10,000 Km Under Construction: Nitin Gadkari
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that India is constructing 25 greenfield expressways totaling 10,000 km at a cost of ₹6 lakh crore. Monetization of road projects could generate ₹15 lakh crore for the highways ministry.
He highlighted that these expressways and economic corridors have reduced logistics costs from 16% to 10%, expected to reach 9% by December, enhancing India’s competitiveness. Gadkari also emphasized the automobile industry’s growth from ₹14 lakh crore to ₹22 lakh crore, employing 400,000 people.
He stressed the need to reduce fossil fuel dependence and adopt clean energy to cut costs and address environmental challenges.
